Consistency is key

Consistency is Key…

The month of May has brought warmer weather, more clarity and even more social media challenges. However, I’ve found myself particularly drawn to one that was presented by well-known blogger, Mattie James. During one of her weekly IG Lives, Mattie discusses how important it is for influencers and content creators alike to be consistent. Consistentency tells brands that you are not only taking your brand and business seriously, but that you are also more than capable of showing up consistently for your audience. This is a strong sign that you would be able to show up consistently for any partnership or collaboration that they may be interested in. Mattie challenges everyone that was on her live that day to post on their IG in-feed at least once a day for the month of May using the hashtag #ConsistencyChallenge. Eight days in, here’s what I’ve learned so far about creating quality content:

1. Planning is everything. It makes daily posting much easier when there’s already a plan in motion.
2. Relevancy is key. It’s important for me to know my audience and respond to the things that they seem to care about the most.
3. Consistency Translates. By this I mean that as I’ve committed to posting daily, it’s easy to see how consistency is lacking in other areas of my life. More specifically, my blog. I need to utilize this space more consistently and plan to do so.

4. Batch is life. Batch shooting and writing is helpful when you are unable to create daily or weekly. I want to be able to consistently post on my blog at least once a week. Best way to do this? Write multiple pieces at a time and schedule them to be posted. Plan is laid out. Bet. Let’s put it in motion!

So, for anyone else who may be struggling to be consistent with content creation, here’s a quick list of my go-to apps that I personally use to make everything happen.
1. InShot - this is what I use to edit all of my content for YouTube. Period. I can edit the videos, add captions, music and sound effects all from this app.
2. Canva - this is what I use to create all of my thumbnails for YouTube.
3. YouTube Studio - this goes without saying but here’s where you add in your video description, end screen etc and also keep up with all of your video analytics. YouTube Studio is key!
4. Mojo - this is one of my most favorite apps! I use this to create my YouTube intro videos and all of my animated Instagram stories. Mojo is great for making photos POP and adding seamless and cohesive templates to your content.
5. Facetune - I use this when I want to smooth portions of a photo and do other light editing.
6. Lightroom - I use this mostly to edit lighting and add my preset - when I decide to use one. This is a great editing tool for pictures but does take time to completely figure out all of the features.

I hope this has truly been helpful! What are some ways that you plan to become more consistent in your life? I want to share more of my editing process for content - what are some specific questions that you may have?
